Petunia's story
Petunia is a spayed, female American Pit Bull/American bulldog mix born about 12/26/2016. She has a smooth coat with beautiful white flashing and weighs 41 pounds. She has been a loving and playful girl in search of couch buddy. Could you be her new best friend?
Petunia has been very people social in her foster home. She has loved men, women and children that she has met there. She thoroughly enjoys going for a stroll with a leash and a good friend. Petunia is crate trained and house trained, and rides well in the car. She is working on her basic obedience skills and doing well. She is intelligent and wants to be a good girl.
Petunia does not love all the dogs that she meets. Due to severe neglect and an unsafe environment, Petunia is wary of other dogs. She has barked and lunged at others, especially female dogs. Petunia has done extensive work at desensitizing and is doing very well, however she will need and owner experienced with her breed type who will keep her safely on a leash and in a fenced yard. In her foster home, Petunia has respected the fenced yard well, neither jumping nor digging.
Petunia is microchipped, up-to-date on her immunizations and spayed. She is heart worm positive and currently well under way with treatment. The adoption fee is $200.
Currently she lives in a foster home in Polk County, NC. Pick up is always available. If desired, at an additional cost, transportation to more distant adopters may be arranged, from upstate South Carolina as far as New Hampshire and Vermont.
